In the history of its existence,
not once has the African Union ever arrived at a conclusion an election was
fraudulent, rigged and not free and fair, writes Sipho Masondo.

The African Union’s (AU) endorsement
of the shocking and yet unsurprising brazen theft of yet another Zimbabwean
election by Zanu-PF is the latest indication the pan-African organisation is a
toothless and ineffective organisation that needs to be repurposed or
disbanded. 

Following the Zimbabwean polls
late last month, the AU’s observer mission to that country issued a preliminary
report, expectedly rubberstamping what was decidedly a sham election. But that
was to be expected.
