‘Can’t run campaigns without funds’: Move to ban political fundraisers in Parliament House

Nationals MP Keith Pitt says you can’t run campaigns without funds, following Prime Minster Anthony Albanese’s move to ban political fundraisers from being held inside Parliament House.

“Labor has the unions, the teals have the climate billionaires,” Mr Pitt told Sky News host Peta Credlin.

“And for the rest of us, we’re just out asking hard-working Australians that support our values to help us raise enough money to run campaigns.”

He also said the catering, support services and security required at fundraiser dinners is a “big chuck into the economy in the ACT”, which is now lost.
