BATAVIA — The New York State Bluebird Society’s annual fall meeting will take place Saturday.
The meeting is packed with information on Bluebirds and other cavity nesting birds, organizers said in a news release. The meeting will take place at the First Baptist Church at 306 Main St.
Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and the meeting concludes at 2:30 p.m. There is no charge for attending the meeting and pre-registration is not required.
Some of the day’s information will come from featured speakers, while other information comes from one-on-one discussions with several bluebird experts before the meeting and during lunch.
The day moves along quickly and includes a brief business meeting, presentation of awards, a silent auction, and opportunities to purchase bluebird items. Refreshments will be served, but people are asked to bring their own lunch.
Speaker Rick Bunting will address the many species of cavity nesting birds during a 10 a.m. presentation. Another presenter, Tom Damiani, will be speaking at about noon about bluebirds in his program called “Birth of a Bluebirder.”
Two shorter programs will be presented by Bluebird Society board members. There will be time to ask questions about bluebirds and all birds.
